For Adam Howard’s research on elite all boy schools Maeve (now Talamh) became involved in the study because they were interested in how social science research works. They worked on analyzing interviews and identifying important data points. Talamh created qualitative research stories that would be used in Adam Howard’s book. They emphasized how lack of women in the classroom truly shaped perspectives at all boy schools.
For Adam Howard’s research on elite all boy schools Cat enjoyed learning about the qualitative research process, reading interview transcripts, and constructing stories around themes she identified. She acknowledges how this research helped her uncover her biased beliefs around all-boy schools and how some of these perspectives were re-affirmed through the interviews. In some instances, she questions the genuineness of the interviewees.
For Adam Howard’s research on elite all boy schools Emma worked on research summaries, categorizing quotes, and writing stories that are to be included in Adam Howard’s book. She focused on sex education and consent education within the schools, determining that the majority of this was inadequate.
For Adam Howard’s research on elite all boy schools Liam carried out interviews and analyzed qualitative data. Interviews lasted between 2-6 hours. He describes how the strong allegiance to the alumni network results in job connections. He discusses the experiences of a transgender student and how she views her peers and alma mater.
For Adam Howard’s research on elite all boy schools Clay conducted interviews, analyzed data, carried out research analysis, identified themes, and selected important quotes. Clay describes how his stereotypes of all boy schools have dissolved after getting to know previous students. Additionally, Clay will be accompanying Adam Howard and another student to present in Sweden in the spring of 2023.
